Dystopia is a literary genre. A thought experiment. A warning disguised as fiction.
Sometimes it stops being fiction.
This is where we document the moment dystopia became real — the movements, the beliefs, the systems that borrowed the language of science fiction and meant every word.
You recognize the story. You just didn’t expect it to leave the page.
If you like our way of explaining conspiracy theories feel free to buy us a coffee.
- HAARP — THE WEATHER WEAPON THAT WASN’TOn the facility in Alaska that controls the weather, triggers earthquakes, and reads your thoughts. And on why none of that is true — but the anxiety behind it absolutely is. In the remote wilderness of Alaska, approximately 200 miles northeast of Anchorage, there is a field of antennas. 180 of them. Arranged in a precise grid across 33 acres of boreal forest. Connected to transmitters capable of generating 3.6… HAARP — THE WEATHER WEAPON THAT WASN’T weiterlesen
- AREA 51 — WHAT THEY WERE ACTUALLY HIDINGWhy the most famous conspiracy location in the world was hiding something real — just not what anyone thought. In the summer of 1947, something crashed in the desert outside Roswell, New Mexico. The United States Army Air Forces issued a press release stating they had recovered a flying disc. Twenty-four hours later, they retracted it. It was a weather balloon, they said. The story changed. The questions didn’t. And… AREA 51 — WHAT THEY WERE ACTUALLY HIDING weiterlesen
- THE PROTOCOLS OF THE ELDERS OF ZION — THE LIE THAT WON’T DIEHow a proven forgery became the most dangerous document in modern history — and why it is still spreading today. In 1903, a Russian newspaper called Znamya serialized a document that claimed to reveal the secret minutes of a meeting of Jewish leaders planning world domination. In 1905, the same document was published as a complete book by a Russian mystic named Sergei Nilus. That book crossed oceans. The document… THE PROTOCOLS OF THE ELDERS OF ZION — THE LIE THAT WON’T DIE weiterlesen
- MKULTRA — WHEN THE CONSPIRACY WAS REALThe CIA. LSD. Non-consensual human experimentation. A man who fell from a hotel window. And the son who has spent his entire life trying to find out what really happened to his father. Every episode of this series begins with a theory. A claim that seems absurd. A community that believes something the rest of the world dismisses. A question about who is lying — and why. And every episode… MKULTRA — WHEN THE CONSPIRACY WAS REAL weiterlesen
- CHEMTRAILS — WHY THE SKY BECAME A CONSPIRACYOn the theory that won’t dissolve — and what it tells us about the air we breathe, the history we forgot, and the science we’re not sure we trust. Look up. On almost any day, in almost any city, you will see them. White lines stretching across the sky behind aircraft. Some dissolve within seconds. Others spread slowly, widening into thin clouds that linger for hours. For most people, they… CHEMTRAILS — WHY THE SKY BECAME A CONSPIRACY weiterlesen
- QANON — WHEN CONSPIRACY BECOMES RELIGIONHow an anonymous internet post became a global movement — and what it tells us about the world we live in. In October 2017, someone posted a message on 4chan. No name. No credentials. No verifiable identity. Just a claim — that they held Q-level security clearance inside the United States government. That a secret war was being fought in the shadows. That the most powerful people in the world… QANON — WHEN CONSPIRACY BECOMES RELIGION weiterlesen
- FLAT EARTH — AND THE COLLAPSE OF SHARED REALITYWhen a theory about the shape of a planet becomes a theory about the shape of trust. In 1956, a man named Samuel Shenton founded the Flat Earth Society in England. He wasn’t performing. He wasn’t trolling. He genuinely believed that the scientific establishment had coordinated a deception on a planetary scale — and he spent his life trying to prove it. For decades, the idea stayed small. A curiosity.… FLAT EARTH — AND THE COLLAPSE OF SHARED REALITY weiterlesen
